We all have times when we get to feeling it’s time for a change. This is quite quickly followed up with the thought of “If only it was that easy!”
This isn’t a post about it being easy - the answer there lies in how you feel about what you’re doing - no, this is more a question of where your limits lie.
When you are in a situation that quite frankly you’d rather not be in, be that a relationship or a position of employment, what personal boundary settings do you have? How much do your personal commitments, family etc, come in to it?
When do you know it’s time to change, and more importantly what brings you to do so ?
So a couple of weeks ago I started a discussion over at 9rules.com asking what people would do if they knew they couldn’t fail?
What would that be for you? A new job? - Maybe no job?
Maybe it might involve facing your fears and embracing what you’ve always wanted to do?
To quote a line from Marianne Williamson “We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?” - We make things so big and scary don’t we.
Just for a minute give it some thought, pretend it’s easy, indulge yourself and knowing you cannot fail what would you do?
I came across this yesterday and loved it. I have to say that I think that overall the music scene has improved a great deal in the last couple of years or so. This to me is an extension of that.
It seems that there is still a market for individualism and that in my book has got to be a good thing.
What follows is a video of Rick Hoyt and his father Dick. I won’t go into things too much here as this has been on the web for a while but I recommend you watch the video to fully appreciate just what can be achieved by ordinary human beings.
It makes me realise just how much more I could do with my boys. They don’t want me to get promoted or earn more, they just want time with their father. First stop, 50 mile bike ride for charity in the summer ‘08. It’s a start.
Thanks to my good friend Kevin Watson for putting me on to this.
